Mr Mondli Gungubele has extensive experience in the public sector and oversight roles that dates back to 1999, where he led the Gauteng's Sports, Recreation, Arts and Culture as the MEC. He held this position until 2004, a year wherein FIFA awarded South Africa the privileges to host the 2010 World Cup. Prior to this, he was the MEC for Health in Gauteng and later the Executive Mayor of Ekurhuleni.
